When you no longer need a company device, return it so Nexus can update your records and put the asset back into service. The Nexus assistant makes this quick.
How it works
- Tell the Nexus assistant you're returning a device, for example "I want to return my laptop." If you have more than one device, name the one you mean or give its asset tag.
- The assistant closes your assignment, recording the return date and the device's condition.
- The asset's status is set back to In stock so it can be reassigned.
Where and how to ship
Return devices to the Nexus warehouse. The assistant will confirm the shipping address and can arrange a prepaid label. Pack the device securely, include any charger or accessories that came with it, and use the original box or suitable protective packaging where possible.
Before you ship: wiping guidance
- Back up any personal files you're entitled to keep; company data should remain in approved systems.
- Sign out of all accounts (email, cloud storage, app stores) and turn off device locks such as Find My or activation lock so the device can be reset.
- You don't need to fully erase the device yourself. Nexus wipes every returned asset as part of processing, but signing out first prevents lock-outs.
- Do not remove CrowdStrike Falcon or other security software.
After you return it
Once Nexus receives and inspects the device, the return is finalized. You can ask the assistant to confirm that your assignment is closed.
